I have long been a fan of James A. Michener, and I'm always thrilled to find a new book at a thrift shop or garage sale by him that I haven't read before. Picked up the Bridge at Andau a little while ago and devoured it in a day. Amazing story. Much shorter than a lot of his other works, so if you've ever been discouraged by Hawaii, don't let that dissuade you from picking this one up. It is an amazing, humbling story. The strength and bravery of these people, and what they endured and how they were willing to fight and sacrifice for the daily freedoms we all take for granted was truly inspiring.
